Taboocha「大杯茶」聯合創辦人兼兩姊妹Lisa與Patricia欣然呈獻為期一週的快閃社區空間:SCOBY ROOM。是次活動為「大杯茶」自2014年首次策劃的實體空間,誠邀各參加者親身體驗及近距離了解SCOBY的故事以及她與我們的身體、思想和心靈的共生關係。
快閃期間,「大杯茶」團隊將從多角度展示SCOBY生命週期中各個階段的一系列裝置品、讀物、品嚐環節等,並鼓勵參加者透過本地藝術家Zoie Lam、Charlene Man、溫偉勞、Celine Ka Wing Lau、Yung Wai Ting Iris、Wong Sze Chit、vvnho 和 Yau Kwok Keung的設計和繪圖與SCOBY大本營互動。
SCOBY(Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast, 即酵母和益菌的共生物)是一個不斷進化生長的永續大家庭。這些小生物吸取糖份作為能量,隨即聯手啟動發酵反應,並在配合有機時令蔬果的過程中產生一番革新又驚喜的獨特風味。「大杯茶」則是香港首家此類活性益生菌發酵飲品的品牌,過去十年來借助SCOBY的無限力量,與本地不同社區單位合作之餘,將有機和公平貿易的茶提升為多樣化的健康飲料。
為慶祝Taboocha「大杯茶」成立11週年,SCOBY ROOM將推出限量120毫升週年口味:「MUI」,而調酒師Mike Tse亦將於3月1日(星期六)15:00-19:00舉辦客席環節,以「大杯茶」的招牌口味製作限量特調。

Artist Statement :
YAU Kwok Keung, a tattoo and visual artist currently lives and works in Berlin. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Visual Communication Design from School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2012. Frequently inspired by the various fractured relationships between himself and the surroundings, his work connects the symbols of ancient myths, historical events and everyday objects, and dilutes varying connections between the objects and himself while constantly carving and smoothing out the traces on his works, a sense of calm and uneasy detachment are usually displayed in the forms of paintings, moving images and installations.
His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in various art institutions, including “Blackout Momentum” (Current Plans, Hong Kong, 2024), “Made in Hong Kong” (Art Central, Hong Kong, 2022), “The Sunshine Is Still There” (SC Gallery, Hong Kong, 2022), “Let’s Try Catching Steam with Bare Hands” (Gallery Exit, Hong Kong, 2021), “The Dimensions of Living: A House is” (Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, Hong Kong, 2020), “The Bacteriology Drawing Lab” (Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, Hong Kong, 2019), “Everything’s Alright” (K11 chi art space, Hong Kong, 2016) and “Yesterday’s” (Osage Gallery, Hong Kong, 2013). His works have been collected by private collectors and galleries of Hong Kong. Yau has been recognized with the CreateSmart Young Design Talent Award, which will fund his research trip to Berlin in 2024.
