《居室乍洩》邀請一眾亞洲藝術家透過一系列作品,展開對家的無限想像。「家」(Domesticity)的概念可連繫至安身之處,私密空間,或內心感受。是次展覽以溫和的方式探索,追蹤及挑出情感的邊界,引發了對藝術家內在世界的好奇和多元化的視角。
參展藝術家包括Fajar Amali(印尼),Lingmuki(香港/南京),Sono Moon(南韓), Wakaru(日本)。他們的作品重塑個人經歷,闡述時間的流逝,塑造對「家」的感知:一間臥室,一個避風港,或任何形式呈現出一所舒適和安逸的棲息地。
展覽由兩部分構成,《居室乍洩》與第二部份《曠野漫遊》互相配合。兩個相互補足又對立的主題並置,旨在引發參與者思考和情感的碰撞。《曠野漫遊》詳請將稍後公佈。
展覽由Toyol Gallery策劃和策展,將在合作夥伴Major Pop(香港上環西街54號)舉辦。
ARTISTS
WAKARU わかる
WAKARU (b. 1991) is a Japanese illustrator and artist. Featuring simple but intricate linework, WAKARU’s art is instantly recognizable with the iconic smiling expressions of human figures and their animal-like companions. WAKARU also provides illustrations for print advertisements, books, as well as digital media, her books include Smile, I want to go home early today, and A book to praise you when you are tired. In recent years, WAKARU has exhibited her work in Hong Kong, London, Spain, Korea, and other countries.
Lingmuki
Lingmuki is an artist and designer based in Hong Kong. Born Lin Ling in Nanjing, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Hong Kong Baptist University Academy of Visual Arts, as well as a Masters of Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design. Additionally, Lingmuki expanded her artistic and cultural perspectives by pursuing further studies in Japan and Italy.
Lingmuki's creative work has been recognized through multiple awards, including the International Council of Visual Arts Award, the Asian Youth Art and Design Alliance, and the Global Chinese Art Design Award. Her art and design work has featured in various publications such as Obscura Magazine, ELLE, AucArt and HK ARTION.
Fajar Amali
Fajar Amali (b. 1992), known among art enthusiasts for consistently exploring his deep interest in anthropology and the concept of time, creates distinctive artworks which feature dystopian visuals and robotic figures.
Inspired by Shakespeare and titled Thy Eternal Summer Shall Not Fade, Fajar’s first solo exhibition showcases the simplicity and directness of his works as complex and cathartic poetic expressions.
In previous works, he incorporated popular figures as a statement of generational context, which influenced his understanding of cultural references and use of visual language. For his latest series, Fajar adopts the impressionist philosophy of light, and focuses on symbolisms and semiotics such as flowers and bright colors.
Sono Moon 소노문
Sono Moon is an artist who transports viewers into a world of enchantment and nostalgia. Through her captivating works, she seeks to capture fleeting moments and preserve cherished memories. Sono Moon’s art is characterized by imaginative narratives within defined frames, reminiscent of fairy tales. Her attention to detail and faded tones symbolize the passage of time, while vibrant accents showcase her unique style.
In her recent works, the depicted women exude independence and joy, and actively engage with their surroundings. Soft pastel tones and gentle lines create a comforting and endearing atmosphere. These paintings reflect the artist's growth and exploration, and invite viewers to embrace self-acceptance. Sono Moon’s art serves as a reminder to pause, reflect, and find positivity amidst life's challenges. Her works encapsulate shared human experiences that evoke memories of childhood, relationships, and personal encounters.
Sono Moon studied at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Art de Toulouse in France. Her recent activities include solo exhibitions such as Once Upon a Time and collaborations with LYCHEE & FRIENDS.
